TOM COLLINS

ABOUT

It might taste like the spiked lemonade popular today, but you won’t find it in a can. This refreshing mix of gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and soda water is so classic it has a namesake glass…and ice!

DETAILS

Back in the day there was an epic viral joke going around dubbed, “The Great Tom Collins Hoax of 1874.” Word has it some scoundrel was talking trash in bars around NYC and Philly and puffed-up gents would head from bar to bar looking to set this Tom Collins guy straight. Astute bartenders caught on and whenever someone asked about Tom Collins, they served up a simple version of a gin punch popular back then. I mean, wow. Makes you wonder how many bars one can go to asking about a Tom before a Tom finds you...
