What do you say, old sport, fancy a Gin Rickey? Gin, fresh lime, simple syrup and soda water - we’ll take this tart, refreshing drink any day and twice on Sunday.

Get your white party on and make like Jay Gatsby, it’s Gin Rickey season. The drink made famous by F. Scott Fitzgerald was created in the late 19th century at a DC-area bar and named after Democratic lobbyist Joe Rickey. Originally crafted with bourbon it was later revised using refreshing and aromatic gin - more apropos for the muggy summer months. So grab your Daisy, mix up a couple and be young and beautiful.

INGREDIENTS

2 oz Gin

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1.5 oz Simple Syrup

2 oz Club Soda


INSTRUCTIONS

POUR gin, lime juice and simple syrup into a highball

STIR 15-20 seconds to incorporate ingredients

TOP with club soda

ADD ice to fill the glass

GARNISH with a lime wheel
